iDistance FAQ & Video

Today, we are glad to publish our latest video on iDistance – iWavenology Safe Distancing Assistant.

Two weeks ago, we participated in Bio Asia Taiwan exhibition. We prepared for this occasion a video to explain how iDistance can stop the spreading of COVID-19 in the workplace. Enjoy the video on how to use iDistance in the workplace:

Moreover, after meeting and discussing with you, we thought it would be a good idea to create a FAQ – Frequently Asked Questions on our Social distancing Assistant. If you have any other question, please send us an email and someone from our team will be glad to answer.

Is the movement and location of employees tracked and stored?

No we don't. Unlike Radar and Camera tracking solutions, we don't need to use personal data. Thus we respect the personal privacy of the users. Only the distances between the sensors, as well as the contact duration of the sensors are measured independent of the location.

Can I modify the safety distance ?

Yes of course, we have several functions and one of them is the possibility to change the fatal distance where users are detected as too close to each other. The distance can range from 1.5 meters to 9 meters.

Do I need an additional infrastructure?

No additional infrastructure is required. We developed a user-friendly solution to reduce maintenance cost and time-wasting.

Does iDistance need to be assigned to a specific employee?

It can be permanently assigned to a specific user or it can be used by several users via daily assignments. If there are several users, you only have to make sure that the correct alarm profiles are set.

Does iDistance interfere with other wireless technologies such as Bluetooth or Wi-Fi?

We developed our product with ultra-wideband (UWB) technology. UWB is a short-range wireless technology that works with a low transmission power (0.5 mW / ‑41.3 dBm / MHz) and therefore does not interfere with other frequency ranges. Only special receivers can detect the UWB signal, so Wi-Fi or Bluetooth signals cannot disturb the UWB network.

How many people can use iDistance simultaneously?

Unlike most of the Social Distancing Assistant Device on the market, iDistance can easily operate with 50 users simultaneously.
